Usher of the Month

Mr Bursha Segree

As a child growing up in Portland Jamaica my parents attended The Berrea & Cayman Island United Church, my siblings didn’t really go to Sunday school, but it wasn’t an option for me it was a must, I just loved church, so In my early teens I got saved, and was baptised, hallelujah.  After I became a Christian my walk wasn’t easy for me, one of the main reasons for this was because my siblings, cousins nor classmates were Christians, temptation was everywhere but I was determined.

I was committed to serving the Lord, he will never leave me or forsake me. Obstacles that are insurmountable to man can easily be removed but with our all-powerful God. Anything is possible for Almighty God.

Exodus 14:10  [10] As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD.

There were days I too cry out to God but with  determination I overcame so many obstacles.

When I was about 24 years of age I moved to Kingston in search of employment where I started to attend the Holy Ghost Power Ministry Pentecostal Church, where I served as  a deacon until 2002 when I left Jamaica and came to England, I did attend church but wasn’t grounded, my Christian walk had started to drift until one Sunday morning I heard our dear Pastor Buttler on the radio, I was mesmerized, I was  determined to find this church, and in 2007 I started to attend LLFGF.

On Sunday 1st December 2008 I was received into membership.  I attended church regularly, my passion is to serve the lord.  There were times I had mountains to climb, my life here in the UK hasn’t been easy but through it all I continued trusting in God in my prayers.

On Monday 25th July 2011 I met Deborah, God is soooooo Good, today Deborah is my wife. In February 2016 my wife gave her life to the lord.
I am determined to continue serving god, my refuge and my strength. My calling in the Ushering Ministry & Alter Worker is my passion.

Because I know that I’m doing Gods work, without God in my life I don’t know where I would be, I can testify god has shown up in my life so many times, sometimes things would drag me down by declining hopes, diminished faith, even the death of a personal vision.

Remember, Jesus literally raised the dead, with god all things are possible.
