Pastors Desk

To the Church family at Landor Road.

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.  I have no greater joy than to see us walk in truth and love.  To God be all praise and glory.  He has brought us through 2018 that is swiftly closing.

The number 19 signifies faith and hearing, having faith in God and hearing His voice.  Let it be a year of FAITH and HEARING God’s voice.  Hebrews 11 “Now faith is the substance of things hope for the evidence of things not seen. (I love the way the NIV puts it “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” By Faith Abraham heard and obeyed God by faith Noah heard and obeyed.

As we enter 2019 let’s cultivate a positive outlook. Paul showed that there is more to life than just prioritising what we do with our time and resources. It’s also how we look at things that determine what we will accomplish.

If we focus on events of the past, we may lose sight of the future. Don’t focus on what’s behind you. You can’t change that. Instead, focus on where you want to be, what you want to accomplish and where you want to go. Look to the honourable, pure and commendable things. Focusing on the positive aspects of where we can lead our lives, can lead to wonderful things. Without changing the events themselves, a positive attitude can change how you perceive those events. It can also affect those around you. A negative attitude seems to fuel other negative attitudes. A positive attitude can change the mood of an environment and help build progress towards our goals and priorities as well as encourage those around you.

The start of a New Year is a good time for you to rise to that challenge. To say to yourself with the help of God I am going to, forget my past. I am going to stop torturing myself about what I did or didn’t do. This New Year is a good time to stop being chained to past failures. God does not want you to go through your life branding yourself as a failure.

As a church we cannot remain seated in the chairs, we have to labour.  We need to leave our comfort zone and move toward the will of God. We have to seek that our hearts be restored, be renewed. In Genesis 12 God called Abram to do something different, so that he could be a blessing. God has called us so that we may be a blessing.   You will notice on the Calendar that January is a month of Prayer for the Church from the 6th to 26th 21 days of church prayer and fasting.  I beseech you brethren to make the sacrifice during the time of prayer when we meet at the church.

To the Members and friends of Landor Road thank you for your support commitment and hard work throughout 2018.
