A Children’s Church is organised in the church and its growth is promoted by the Pastors, Officers Board and departmental leaders. Children are a blessing from the Lord; however, with these blessings also come responsibilities. Parents are responsible for helping children grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. However, as stewards of God’s children, churches also have a responsibility towards them. We want to provide an environment in which children are safe, taught at an age-appropriate level, and encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The purpose of the Children’s Church ministry is to administer and motivate the children aged 11 and under, in a manner that will result in the spiritual growth and maturity of the children of the church.
The Children’s Church is conducted on a minimum of two Sundays per month, during the time of the main Worship Service. Children will leave the main service after the Praise & Worship session and return to the main service by the end of the message. It is expected that a short review of the lesson will take place towards the end of the main service.
The Children’s Church will partake with the Sunday school on Mother’s Day in March and Father’s Day in June. This will also be the case for Family Sunday in October, and the Youth/General Convocation held each year in April/August.
Mrs Melissa Denis
Leader of Children's Church
Mrs Denis started attending the Sunday school at LLFGF as a child in 1998, then as a young adult she gave her life to Christ and became a full member in 2006.
She coordinates the children’s church services which deliver child friendly sessions, teaching scripture at a level that children can relate to. She loves watching the children learn, she finds it amazing the way they articulate and express themselves and learns so much from watching and working with them.
Favourite scripture: Psalm 139
O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising,
thou understandest my thought afar off.”
