An Ushers department is organised in the church and its growth promoted by the Pastors, Officers and Leaders of the department. The Usher Ministry operates for the spiritual benefit of the church; for the co-operation in seeking the souls of the lost, and for the advancement of the work of the church.
The duties of the Ushers include among other things: greeting people as they arrive for the service, assisting people with special needs, and collecting the offering. In case of an emergency, the Ushers will take the lead in getting people to safety in an orderly manner.
The posts within the Usher’s department are: Leader, Assistant Leader and Secretary. The Usher leadership team should assemble a staff of members who have a servant’s heart to ensure the church services and events are run smoothly. The Pastoral staff may also request Service from the Usher ministry, and the Usher should be the hand of help for many areas of ministry.
The Ushers must arrive at church at least half an hour before each main service to prepare themselves and to be ready at the doors before the service starts.
